Who we are
Steam Deck Voorraad Monitor (DeckDrop) is a free website that tracks whether refurbished Steam Decks are in stock. The site is run by a private individual. Questions about privacy? Contact us at contact@deckdrop.nl.
What data we process
You don't need an account and we don't ask for personal data. We do process the following:
- Visitor statistics. For each visit to the dashboard we store the time and an anonymous code. The code is calculated from your IP address with a secret key and changes every day. Your IP address itself is not stored, and the code cannot be turned back into an IP address or a person. We only use it to count unique visitors per day.
- Preferences. Your language and theme choices are stored in your own browser. See our cookie policy.
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider may keep technical log files (such as IP address, time and browser type) for security and server administration.
We don't use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking or social media pixels.
Legal basis and purpose
We process visitor statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): knowing how many people use the site so we can maintain the service. Because we don't store IP addresses and the codes change daily, the impact on your privacy is minimal.
How long we keep data
Entries in the visitor statistics are deleted automatically after 90 days. Preferences in your browser stay until you clear them (the language cookie expires after 30 days).
Sharing with others
We don't sell or share data with third parties. The site links to external services such as the Steam Store (Valve) and our Discord server. When you visit those, their privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and restrict your data, and to object to its processing. Because we only store anonymous codes that change daily, we usually cannot link them to you. Send requests to contact@deckdrop.nl; we respond within one month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the data protection authority in your own country.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
